Chatham manager Scott Lindsey admits he will not be focusing on the Southern Counties East table for at least another month.
Lindsey’s team are well placed in the Premier Division, only seven points behind leaders Beckenham.
Chatham host AFC Croydon this weekend, as they return to action after a two-week break following their FA Vase extra-time loss to Corinthian.
“A lot can happen in January and February,” said Lindsey.
“I have always said that there is no point looking at the table until probably the end of February when things really start to pan out.
“But before then, a lot of teams are playing each other and there are a lot of permutations for what can happen.
"It’s quite an interesting season.”
AFC Croydon sit 12th in the league and come into the clash after a 2-1 success against basement boys Greenwich last weekend.
Lindsey said: “I know it’s going to be a tough game, like every game is at this level.
"We take no game for granted, there are no easy games at this level.
“We know we have to be on it, we need our players to be on it on the day and, if we are, with the way we play, we should be okay.
"We have struggled more so against the teams towards the bottom of the table than the ones who are towards the top.
“That’s something we want to address and put right so we will be looking to do that this weekend.”
