Chatham are back on the road this weekend hoping to build on the spirited display they showed at Cheshunt on Tuesday.

Starting the midweek match with the bare 11 men, Chatham were left cursing their luck after letting Cheshunt off the hook in a 2-2 draw.

Chatham assistant boss Keith Levett said: “Some of the players were having to get buses and taxis and it was an impressive effort by some of them just to arrive.

“Despite the problems, we still did well and on the balance of play, we should have won.”

On Saturday they face a long trip to Cambridgeshire, to face Soham Town, a team sitting just above them in the Ryman League, Division 1 North table.

Levett said: “It’s a long way to go but our away form isn’t bad and we’ll go there confident of getting a result.”

Chatham were also held to a draw on Saturday - 1-1 at home by Wroxham - and Levett added: “In the last few games our finishing has not been where it needs to be.

“It’s OK playing well and dominating but you need the end product. The good thing is that the lads aren’t shy of shooting.”
