There should be no lack of motivation this weekend as Chatham play a rare derby away at Erith & Belvedere on Saturday.
Ahead of the Ryman 1 North clash, Chats boss Kevin Watson said: “The game will certainly have more of an edge and if our players get caught up in it, then it can be a distraction.
"We’ll enjoy the occasion because we haven’t had many derbies for a while.”
Watson is also backing new signing Alfie May to be a hit at the next level.
The striker topped the goal charts in the Kent League last season with Corinthian, hitting the net 32 times and scored on his debut at the weekend in the 3-2 defeat to Barkingside.
The manager said: “He’ll bring goals and an attacking threat that we haven’t had for the last few seasons.
“He is someone who can naturally play on the right and also has the freedom and flexibility to move inside as well."
