Gillingham have now decided they won’t be appealing Conor Wilkinson’s red card.
The former Bolton striker will be suspended for the next three games following his weekend dismissal against Bradford City.
He was sent off in the 75 minute of that game after attempting to block Timothee Dieng’s clearance. Although he missed the player, the challenge was still deemed to be reckless, in the view of match official John Busby.

And with the referee’s assessor also agreeing, Gills head coach Ady Pennock was unwilling to risk an extended ban by submitting an appeal that they weren’t going to win.
Pennock had initially been confident of winning an appeal.
But he said: “My argument was that he (Wilkinson) was nowhere near the player but they were saying there was intent and there was aggression and he (the assessor) said there was no way we would win the appeal.
“That was from the assessor and so we would have no chance.
“My worry was that we could put the appeal in and they could then add another game to the suspension. We listened to what they said.”
