Bradley Dack is pushing for a return to the Gillingham squad this week.
Scans on a knee injury came back with no serious issues after the Gills midfielder limped off at Southend in the week.
It was a relief to boss Justin Edinbugh who was pleased to see his side cope well without last season’s star man.
Edinburgh said: “We had good news in the week about his scan, it is just a slight bit of over extension and bone bruising and Bradley, being Bradley, he is trying to force himself into contention for Tuesday. We will monitor that.
“A lot of supporters would have come (on Saturday) and knowing Bradley wasn’t playing they might be thinking, ‘where are we going to win, where are we going to get goals from?’ That for me, is a signal of how far we have come from last season.”
Max Ehmer missed out against Bury after being forced off in the same Southend game with concussion. He has to sit out a week as per Football Association injury guidelines.
“If everything continues going to plan then he will be available for Tuesday,” said Edinburgh.
