Bradley Dack might dream about playing Premier League football but he’s focusing on only one thing right now.
With 15 goals he leads the scoring charts at Gillingham and is desperate to extend their season with a shot at the League 1 play-offs.
He has been linked with a £2.5m move to Crystal Palace in the summer but Gillingham’s newly-crowned player-of-the-year only has one aim this week.
He said: “It is every footballer’s dream to play at the top level. It is a short career at the end of the day and that’s where the money is. We will see what happens in the summer but my focus is getting Gillingham promoted.
“We were all devastated last Saturday, to lose 2-1 in the last minute. A few of the players thought it was all over and I was devastated.
“I believe we can beat Millwall. We know we have the beating of them. Barnsley and Scunthorpe have two of the toughest games you can get in League 1, so let’s hope those two can do us a favour and we can get into the play-offs.”
Reacting to the Palace rumours, he said: “That stuff doesn’t faze me. That is football.
“Gillingham will always have a special place in my heart, I have been here eight or nine years and owe a lot to this club and to Martin Allen and all of the other managers I played for, especially Justin Edinburgh. He has been a great influence on me.
“He has given me a real chance to show what I can do. Speculation is just speculation and it’s for agents and chairmen to sort it out.
“It will be my decision but at the moment I am focused on getting Gillingham into the Championship.”
