Tom Dallas insists he’s got no hunger for any more journeymen opponents.
And he’s now hoping to get the nod to fight for the vacant Southern Area heavyweight title.
Dallas completed a comfortable night’s work at York Hall on Saturday, despite the intense heat of the Bethnal Green venue, to emerge unscathed from his six-round contest against Czech hard-man Tomas Mrazek.
In Dallas’ first fight in 13 months, referee Jeff Hinds scored the contest 59-55 in the Chatham man’s favour and he’s now ready for the step up.
Dallas said: “It was so hot and he was tough but I enjoyed it. That fight is now done and dusted and I’m ready to roll on to the next one. I’m trying to push for the Southern Area. I was asked about maybe fighting another journeyman but I can’t get motivated for that. It’s not something I can get excited about.”
Dallas is pencilled in to fight again at York Hall on September 7.
Promoter Stephen Goodwin has already promised him a title fight as part of a three-fight contract, although that was initially going to be another fight away.
“If my next fight is for the title then I’ll be out running tomorrow,” Dallas said.
