New players will be arriving at Gillingham during the January transfer window.
Head coach Ady Pennock wants to make changes to the personnel and deals are already being negotiated.
Pennock could bring in several new faces but players will also be heading for the exit.
He said: “We have players on loan that we need to decide on. There are players out of contract.
“There will be a bit of movement, not wholesale, but hopefully there will be two or three coming in and unfortunately two or three going out.
“We have to make those decisions very quickly because I want to come in here and hit the ground running, this is why the players are in on Friday and at the weekend.
“We are not here to make up the numbers, we want to get results straight away and get them working off the pitch and on it every day.”
Pennock is due to speak with QPR manager Ian Holloway about the future of striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas in the next 24 hours. He is on a deal until the end of the season but the Championship side could recall him during the current window.
Over the next few days he will be speaking to players individually about their futures.
He said: “There will be movement but I can’t say too much until I have spoken with the players.”
Frank Nouble is out of contract and he is one of the players who Pennock will be having discussions with.
The Gills will also need to agree a new deal with defender Baily Cargill if they want to keep him. His loan has now expired.
He previously enjoyed a loan spell under Gills’ new coach Jamie Day at Welling.
The loan of Reading keeper Jonathan Bond has now ended but West Ham loanee Josh Pask is injured and discussions need to be made on him.
