Former Watford defender Lloyd Doyley is on trial with the Gills.
Doyley, 33, has been a free agent since June when his contract at the Premier League club expired.
He remained at Watford for several months after his contract expired, undergoing rehabilitation on a neck injury.
The versatile defender has only ever played for Watford, clocking up close to 400 league appearances for the club since making his debut in 2001 after progressing through the club’s academy.
Gills boss Justin Edinburgh is considering offering the experienced defender, who can play right across the back, a deal.
Since 2013, the player has played internationally for Jamaica.
