Invicta Dynamos were depleted for the visit of MK Thunder on Saturday but took the points.

The Mos have been struggling with injuries and were further weakened by the loss of two players to suspension ahead of the weekend match in Gillingham, and were further hampered by a freak accident just before the start.

Owen Dell picked up a facial injury, losing a couple of teeth as he collided with another player while entering the ice.

Head coach Karl Lennon was added as a late addition to the team for the Mos and was just grateful that they bagged the two points, winning 7-1.

“The game itself was quite scrappy,” admitted the coach, who had lost both Joe Stephenson and Harrison Lillis to suspensions.

“We were a bit slow and tentative out of the blocks, I think again the fact we were so short of bodies, trying to find our way in but grateful to the guys for getting the job done.”

It was a scrappy opening at Planet Ice but goals from James Laming and Stanislav Lascek put them two-up at the end of the first period.

Lascek added two more in the second and another in the final period, sandwiched between a Ruskin Springer-Hughes double as the Mos eased to victory.

Lennon added: “Stano with four goals, Ruskin and James getting two each was great and Matt Friend did fantastic between the pipes as well, so there were positives to take from what is a difficult time for us, but getting he job done was the most important thing.”

Netminder Friend picked up the man-of-the-match award while there was also a debut for Dan Alabaster. Victory for the Mos ended a run of four straight league defeats.
