Brennan Dickenson praised the Priestfield crowd for helping them get out of a rut.
Gillingham ended a four-game winless streak by beating Crewe 3-0 on Saturday – with the help of a vibrant Priestfield atmosphere.
The forward said: “It is always nice to hear the crowd. It gives you that sense of security around the stadium.
“You know you can push on and the crowd will be behind you, especially when we score.
The buzz around here has been very good.
“They were behind us and they are very loud when we are scoring goals and playing positively. It always helps. It gives you the confidence to strive on.
“If you put in a good cross and the crowd are behind you, applauding you, it makes you want to keep doing it. The louder they get the more you want to push on.
“Hopefully the victory has put us back on a path towards more victories.
“We have been saying all week, we have to get back on track and set up another little run. If we keep playing the way we did on Saturday then who knows?”
