Gillingham picked up a couple of injuries in their weekend defeat to Burton Albion.
Midfielder Stuart O’Keefe and goalscoring full-back Robbie McKenzie both limped off as the Gills slumped to a 3-1 home defeat.
Captain Kyle Dempsey - back in the side for the first time in two months because of injury - also appeared to be struggling at one stage but he was able to complete the 90.
The loss of O’Keefe and McKenzie were a blow to the Gills and with both off the field the Gills shipped two goals.
“They both got kicks,” said caretaker boss Steve Lovell.
“Stuart struggled to carry on in the second half, he had it in the first half.
“They were two major plusses for me until they went off, that was disappointing and we will have to see how they are because we need them, it proved how good those two are.
“We have got a very decent squad but unfortunately the boys that went on (as substitutes) looked a little bit off it. That is perhaps because they haven't played so much.
“If they are going to come on I want them to come on and show something. There is no point putting them on otherwise. I bet they are disappointed they are not in the team but they have to show me why they should be. I felt they could have done a bit better when they came on.”
Gillingham are next in action at Wigan on Saturday.
