Gillingham pair Regan Charles-Cook and Brandon Hanlan won’t be rushed back by boss Steve Lovell.
Both were left out of the squad for Saturday's game against Luton because of fatigue.
The Gills head for an important match at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday but Lovell won't consider them if they are not 100% fit.
He said: “I am not going to force anyone back if they are not 100%.
“The two of them have been carrying a little bit of fatigue over the last two or three games and they haven’t been performing like they can do.
“I am not going to put them in unless they are 100%.
“We might have to wait until next Sunday (for the FA Cup game) at Slough.”
Lovell had Callum Reilly back from injury and he was an unused substitute on Saturday.
“He will be involved on Tuesday, in some way,” said Lovell.
“I will see how everyone is but there might be that a couple who played Wednesday and Saturday who need to come out so we can freshen it up a bit.”
Rovers occupy the final spot in the League 1 drop zone and the Gills are just a point better off. Defeat could see Gillingham drop into the bottom four.
Lovell said: “It is a big game now, down at Bristol Rovers.
“We have an important week coming up with that game and then Sunday as well.
“We will be fine, the players are disappointed but I think we can take a lot of heart from that performance (on Saturday against Luton) and build on it.”
