Invicta Dynamos face ENIHL South Division 1 champions Chelmsford Chieftains in the Southern Cup on Sunday.
The Mos head into that game following last weekend’s friendly double-header against Premier League Peterborough Phantoms.
The higher league opponents were a tough test for Kevin Parrish’s men. The Phantoms won Saturday’s game on their own ice 7-4 and in the return match at Gillingham, claimed a 7-2 victory.
Mos’ goals were scored by Ryan Giles, Arran Strawson, Callum Fowler and Jakub Klima.
Goalscorer Giles tweeted: “7-4 loss against Peterborough EPL. Pretty respectable I’d say. We had one import, they had four. Good effort from the boys.”
The Mos went two goals up after just five minutes when the teams returned to Silver Blades, through Fowler and Elliot Knell but with just 9.11 on the clock, the scores were level. The Phantoms scored five more to take the win.
Invicta netminder Chris Douglas was named man-of-the-match in the opening game, while defenceman Shaun Wild got the accolade in game two.
The Mos get their game on Sunday underway at 5.15pm against a Chelmsford team who also warmed up against EPL opponents, losing 6-2 to Milton Keynes Lightning.
Mos forward Juraj Huska misses the game this weekend through suspension.
