Justin Edinburgh believes Gills’ next win is just around the corner.
Three straight defeats have dented the club’s hopes of automatic promotion.
A 2-1 reverse at Fleetwood on Tuesday leaves them nine points off the top of League 1 and sitting fourth.
They head to Scunthorpe on Saturday but boss Edinburgh hasn’t lost any faith in his team.
He said: “You will always dissect it and think about it. We are having a run and knew we would have some bumps along the way.
“We are in games and not getting over-run, we could have easily had something from the last three games that we have lost.
“It’s a bad run but we have to overcome it. I have no doubt that we will.
“I have every confidence in the group but we need to do it sooner rather than later.
“This is our first blip and it’s not bad for 34 games in but we can’t rely on other teams. Results went for us again (on Tuesday night) but we want to rely on ourselves. That victory won’t be too far away.
“We are having spells in games but need to have longer spells where we are going to dominate and then we will be fine.”
