Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh is looking to beef up his side’s attacking options.
With the emergency loan window now open, Edinburgh is keen to make an addition.
The Gills have already got a deal lined up with Cardiff City for defender Deji Oshilaja and Edinburgh also wants to strengthen at the other end of the field.
He said: “We would like to bring one more attacking player to the club.”
Edinburgh is in the market for an out-and-out striker or someone who can attack from deep. He said: “There are loads out there we could go and get.
“But it has got to strengthen and better us and that is not easy because this is a good squad.”
Edinburgh was given the approval to freshen up his League 1 squad by Gills chairman Paul Scally on Monday.
A new face could be in place for the weekend when the Gills play host to League 1’s in-form team Barnsley.
“If the right person becomes available then we would look to do that,” Edinburgh said.
“We are looking for that little bit of spark and X-Factor to get us over the line.”
