Rochester & Cobham Golf Club’s Jack Lee has been selected to the England boys’ squad for the first time.
Lee is one of five boys to have earned a call-up for winter training camps building towards a busy year of competition in 2023.
Seven girls and five boys will have the chance to work with the England Golf coaching and performance staff at regular sessions to be held over the coming months at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa.
These sessions will allow the players to develop all aspects of their game from a technical, physical and mental perspective.
Stephen Burnett, head of men’s performance at England Golf, said: “The five lads selected all deserve their place in the squad after successful seasons and, with further support and guidance, will have a great opportunity to learn from some of the country’s best coaches and take their games to the next level.
“The past season produced a number of highlights – notably England’s boys winning a silver medal at the European Team Championships in Germany and qualifying for the 2023 World Team Championships in Japan as a result of their efforts.
“Earning a place in the team for the Worlds is a huge incentive and something to aim for in the coming months.
“With the calibre of players we have coming through at regional and national level and the depth of our talent pool, I’m confident the future is bright for boys’ and men’s amateur golf in this country.”
