A tough sequence of League 2 games awaits Gillingham over the festive period.

Saturday's visit of Brentford is followed by a trip to an unpredictable Dagenham side on Boxing Day and then the visit of leaders Wycombe two days later (Sunday, December 28).

"You couldn’t pick a harder three fixtures but that’s just the way it’s panned out and we’ll attack all three games," said manager Mark Stimson.

"If you go through the Christmas period and get zero points, then you make it hard for yourself but if you can get half your points or more then you’re right in among it.

"The boys are working well and there’s a nice buzz around the place – everyone is positive.

"It’s totally different from this time last year as we had lost in the FA Cup to Barnet and were always chasing the people above us in the league.

"The boys are playing well and last week was a good one for the club."
