Gills defender Matt Fish has joined League 2 Portsmouth on loan.
Fish is the second right-back at the club to head out of the club in the last week.
Fellow defender Josh Hare appeared for non-league Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday night after joining them on loan.
Both Hare and Fish have found their route to the first team starting XI blocked by Gavin Hoyte.
Hoyte is on a short-term deal with the Gills until January 18. Fish will stay at the Fratton Park club on loan until January 3.
The former Dover defender, now 25, has been with the Gills since July 2011 and has had an up and down spell with the club.
He played 28 times during his first season at Priestfield, in League 2, before becoming a regular player in Martin Allen’s championship winning side the next season.
Hopes of building on that form ended when he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury, which he suffered on the opening day of the 2013/14 season. His return, as a second half sub, came on the final day of that campaign.
Fish has failed to win a regular place in Peter Taylor’s side and has been restricted to just six appearances this season, three in the league and three in the cup.
As well as signing Fish, Portsmouth have also added Colchester's Marcus Bean to their ranks.
Pompey boss Andy Awford said: “They’re two experienced players, who know what is required at this level.
“We’ve had them watched and know what they can do – we hope that they can come straight in and make an impact.”
