Gillingham Football Club have paid tribute to loyal fan Pam Tyler following her death this week.
The 86-year-old had been a regular at matches home and away for many decades and the club described her as an “incredibly popular member of the Gills family.” She died on Wednesday.
The Gillingham Independent Supporters’ Club said that Pam passed away at Darent Valley Hospital, after contracting Covid-19, while receiving treatment for another unrelated condition.
They led the tributes to Pam, describing her as “our friend and true Gill", adding: “She would have done anything for anyone and we are lucky to have known her.”
She once worked in the club shop at Gillingham Football Club and had been a fan since the age of nine.
The Gills said everyone as the club had been devastated to hear of her passing and said: “She was always one of the first to take her seat in the Gordon Road Stand. She will be greatly missed by everybody.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with Pam’s family, friends and loved ones at this very difficult time.”
The club mentioned her friendship with Pam Humphreys, known as ‘the two Pams’ and both were regular contributors to the ‘Gills Jury’ in the Medway Messenger newspaper.
