Wednesday’s FA Cup defeat at Brackley left Gillingham with more injury concerns.
Chris Herd and Bradley Garmston were both forced off with injuries and Frank Nouble missed out because of a hamstring injury he picked up in the first game against Brackley.
All three are doubts for the trip to Walsall in League 1 on Saturday.
Herd went off with an ankle injury and Garmston with a hamstring problem.
Manager Justin Edinburgh was still awaiting a report on the injured players when he faced the press after the cup defeat.
But on Nouble’s injury, he said: “Frank had a tight hamstring against Brackley in the first game and he obviously didn’t do a lot of training but played against Northampton.
“With the games coming around as quick as they are we thought it was better to not risk it getting worse.”
Edinburgh will now hope to see his players come out fighting against a Walsall side just two points above Gills.
He said: “It is the only focus we have but there has got to be a lot of soul searching and there has to be a lot more character and desire on the pitch on Saturday if we are going to get anything out of that game.”
