Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh says Paul Scally is a top-drawer chairman

Justin Edinburgh counts Gillingham chairman Paul Scally as a friend.

The pair have grown even closer since Scally relocated to the UK and Edinburgh enjoys working with him.

He said: “I think we’ve built up a really good friendship now.

“I think that’s really helped since he’s moved back from Dubai and being here with him on a day-to-day basis has really strengthened that friendship and that work friendship as well.

“He’s been very supportive, not just with players but at times a manager needs a bit of support and he’s certainly given me that.

“He’s a top-drawer chairman and a solid guy.

“I’ve got a lot of time for him and he’s been first-class in everything me and him have done since I’ve been here and I expect that to continue.”
