Barry Fuller wants to finish his career with Gillingham.
The defender is out of contract in the summer but still feels he has a lot to offer having made 33 appearances this season.
He’s proved an important player since rejoining the Gills from AFC Wimbledon and would welcome the chance to stay at the club.
Fuller said: “I’d like to finish my career here. It’s something I’ll probably sit down with the gaffer and the chairman and talk about towards the end of the season.
“Obviously our priority at the minute is to secure League 1 football and then after that sit down and sort something out and we can sign a new deal that could potentially finish my career here.”
Fuller, who turns 35 in September, believes he has another two years in him but hasn’t put a timescale on retirement.
He said: “I want to carry on until my legs can’t take it any more.
“In your head you try not to have a certain age because it might start telling your body and you start shutting down.
“Theoretically, I would like to say two more seasons of really pushing to play week in, week out but I haven’t got a set date.
“It’s when the legs don’t allow me to do the job to the best of my ability.
“At this moment in time I feel fit, strong and I feel like I can compete and do my job.”
