A review of Gillingham’s medical procedures will take place following another big injury blow on Tuesday night.
Gillingham lost Dominic Samuel after 20 minutes to what is a suspected hamstring injury and it’s an injury too far for Gills boss Steve Evans, whose side has been plagued by setbacks all season.
“We are hurting at the minute,” said Evans, following the 2-0 defeat to Doncaster.
“We have a lack of personnel due to injuries and we will review what we are doing medical wise and in training.
“There are too many soft tissue injuries. You have to look at what the medical guys are saying to you, what they are telling us to implement. We will look at all of that but that is just par for the course as a manager.”
The Gills were without Trae Coyle on Tuesday after he suffered a groin injury. He’s expected to be out for several weeks. Jordan Graham (hamstring) is also out.
Evans added: “When you get them as a manager you break all of the data down and see what we are doing and what shouldn’t we do, what should we do better and what should we do more of and what should we do less of.
“It is the sports fitness team and sports science department but I head it up so I take ultimate responsibility and it is my job to break it up because that is one too many now.”
