Gillingham will need to wait on scans before finding out the seriousness of an injury picked up by their newly signed goalkeeper.
Ashley Maynard-Brewer went off injured at Dover on Saturday after stretching to make a save low down midway through the opening half.
Maynard-Brewer - who has also previously played for Dover - suffered a dislocated shoulder last season while on loan with Scottish side Ross County, which ended his successful stint there.
But Gills boss Neil Harris is keeping an open mind over the latest injury, with the medical team managing to “pop the shoulder” back into place.
“It looks like a dislocated shoulder,” Harris said when asked about the injury post-match.
“It looks like it popped out and popped back in again.
“He will have to have a scan and probably and x-ray and we will have to judge it. That was the downside of the day.
“Losing your goalkeeper after 18 minutes is a disappointment but I am not going to get too over thoughtful on it now because we could be talking about minimal time rather than maximum time so until we get more feedback we can’t give too much.”
Maynard-Brewer is on a season-long loan from Charlton. He spent the second half on Saturday watching the action with his arm in a sling.
Also on the sidelines was defender Max Ehmer. He’s been troubled by a dislocated shoulder several times himself but the most recent episode wasn’t severe, managing to play again days later.
He’s currently sidelined with a back injury.
Harris said: “(We’ve trained on) hard grounds, a lot of physical distance to cover pre-season. If it was a league game Max would have played, but pre-season it is just not worth it.
“We play behind closed doors on Wednesday against a Championship club and then we have two home games next week. We don’t want to risk a player for 45 minutes and lose him for three weeks, we would rather lose him for 45 minutes and have him for the long-term.”
