AFC Wimbledon;

Kaylee Seckington - Get Surrey

Main signings: Kwesi Appiah, Jimmy Abdou, Deji Oshilaja, George Long, Cody McDonald.

Main departures: Tom Elliott, Jake Reeves, Dom Poleon, James Shea, Dannie Bulman.

Fans’ expectations: I think the fans are realistic. They want to see the Dons continue to establish themselves as a League One club with the hope of pushing on in the future, hopefully in a new ground back in Merton.

One to watch: Kwesi Appiah. If he can stay injury-free, the former Crystal Palace striker could prove pivotal for the Dons.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Portsmouth.

Relegated: Shrewsbury, Oldham, Blackpool, Gillingham.

Richard Sharpe - Lancashire Telegraph

Main signings: Bradley Dack, Peter Whittingham, Richie Smallwood, Ben Gladwin, Dominic Samuel.

Main departures: Connor Mahoney, Jason Steele.

Fans’ expectations: Rovers will be favourites to get promotion straight back to the Championship and there is a cautious optimism for the first time in a while around Ewood Park with what Tony Mowbray is building at the club.

One to watch: Bradley Dack – certainly if the £750,000 acquisition can get back to the form which saw him named League One player of the year in 2014/15 while at Gillingham.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Charlton.
Relegated:

Matt Scrafton - Blackpool Gazette

Main signings: Max Clayton, Callum Cooke, Sean Longstaff, Jimmy Ryan, Nick Anderton.

Main departures: Tom Aldred, Sam Slocombe, Jack Payne, Jack Redshaw, Dean Lyness.

Fans’ expectations: Given Blackpool finished seventh in League Two last season, expectations are fairly low so survival would be seen as a success. But with Gary Bowyer at the helm most are confident Pool can finish safe in mid-table.

One to watch: Callum Cooke - The on-loan Middlesbrough midfielder comes with rave reviews from Crewe Alexandra fans, who got to see him in action on loan last season. The 20-year-old will add some much-needed creativity to Pool’s midfield.

Promoted: Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Bradford City.
Relegated: Oldham, Doncaster Rovers, Walsall,

.

Simon Parker - Bradford Telegraph & Argus

Main signings: Jake Reeves, Shay McCartan, Dominic Poleon, Paul Taylor.

Main departures: Rory McArdle, James Meredith, Mark Marshall, Billy Clarke.

Fans’ expectations: To go one better than last season’s play-off final heartache and win promotion. Bradford have improved year-on-year for last five now but it will be tough.

One to watch: Jake Reeves has big boots to fill replacing Josh Cullen as Bradford’s midfield hub. But he played every minute of last season for Wimbledon and has already shown promise in the friendlies.

Promoted: Wigan, Blackburn, Charlton.

Jack Vittles/John Evely - Bristol Post

Main signings: Tom Nichols, Liam Sercombe, Tom Broadbent, Adam Smith, Sam Slocombe.

Main departures: Pete Hartley, Lee Mansell, Jermaine Easter.

Fans’ expectations: To better last season’s 10th place finish and push for a play-off place and who knows even promotion.

One to watch: Billy Bodin - the class act in the Rovers midfield has brilliantly quick feet and an eye for goal. He could form a great partnership with new striker Tom Nichols.

Promoted: Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Bristol Rovers.

.

Mikael McKenzie - Bury Times

Main signings: Jermaine Beckford, Nicky Ajose, Chris Maguire, Adam Thompson, Jay O’Shea.

Main departures: James Vaughan, George Miller, Paul Caddis, Antony Kay, Leon Barnett.

Fans’ expectations: The fans have high hopes going into the new campaign and anything short of a top-six finish will be deemed a failure, especially after cherry-picking all of the best talent from the lower leagues in the transfer window.

One to watch: Jermaine Beckford. The former Leeds and Everton front man looks as sharp as ever netting twice in as many pre-season games. The 33-year-old has an exceptional goal-scoring record in League One and could be the perfect replacement for James Vaughan.

Promoted: Bury, Blackburn, Wigan.

Richard Cawley - South London Press

Main signings: Mark Marshall, Tariqe Fosu, Billy Clarke, Jay Dasilva.

Main departures: Adam Chicksen, Jorge Teixeira, Cristian Ceballos, Roger Johnson, Nicky Ajose.

Fans’ expectations: Top-six is the minimum requirement after underachieving in 2016-17. Squad still lacks a little depth but has some proven performers.

One to watch: Ricky Holmes. The winger dazzled in a run-of-the-mill campaign. Sheffield United had bids rebuffed before a new contract was signed.

Promoted: Blackburn, Portsmouth, Oxford.

Relegated: Blackpool, Northampton, Shrewsbury, Oldham.

Liam Hoden - Sheffield Star

Main signings: Danny Andrew, Ben Whiteman, Alex Kiwomya, Niall Mason

Man departures: Paul Keegan, Gary McSheffrey, Mitchell Lund, Cedric Evina, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair.

Fans' expectations: It's a mixed bag. Some are confident of pushing for back to back promotions, others are doom mongers predicted a long hard season. Most are probably in between and hoping for mid-table.

One to watch: Liam Mandeville. In a season where he'd been expected to be a bit part player, he scored ten goals including eight in an 11 game run. After scoring six in pre-season, he's primed to start regularly.

Promoted: Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, Doncaster Rovers.

Rosie Swarbrick - Blackpool Gazette

Main signings: Kyle Dempsey, Jordy Hiwula, Lewie Coyle, Conor McAleny, Harvey Rdogers.

Main departures: Conor McLaughlin, David Ball, Jimmy Ryan.

Fans' expectations: To compete at the right end of the table and push for promotion once again. Surprise promotion contenders last term but now after that top four finish and given the quality of the summer signings expectations are high.

One to watch: Fleetwood beat a host of Championship and League One clubs to secure the out of contract Everton man's signature. The 24-year-old can certainly score at this level given his blistering loan spell with Oxford last term and after a promising start to pre-season he is already filling the void left by David Ball's departure.

Promoted: Fleetwood, Blackburn Rovers, Bradford.

Toby Lock - MK Citizen

Main signings: Ousseynou Cisse, Gboly Ariyibi, Peter Pawlett, Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Aaron Tshibola.

Main departures: David Martin, Darren Potter, Dean Bowditch, Nicky Maynard, Ben Reeves.

Fans' expectations: Anything short of the play-offs would be a failure, but (manager) Robbie Neilson has his eyes firmly on a shot at the title.

One to watch: Gboly Ariyibi comes to Stadium MK with a reputation as a tricky winger from his time at Chesterfield, and after his early career at Forest has fallen short, he'll be expected to spark Dons into life.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Bradford

James Heneghan - Northampton Chronicle & Echo

Main signings: Matt Crooks, Aaron Pierre, Ash Taylor, Sam Foley, Billy Waters.

Main depatures: Zander Diamond, Jak McCourt, Harry Beautyman, Adam Smith, Paul Anderson.

Fans' expectations: To improve on last season's 16th place finish. Fell away towards the end of last term but several exciting summer acquisitions has transformed the mood and got many fans expecting a top half push.

One to watch: Matt Crooks - Spent good money to fend off several rival clubs for his signature from Rangers. The classy and imposing 6ft 4in central midfielder is expected to bring a different dimension to Northampton's midfield this season.

Promoted: Wigan, Portsmouth, MK Dons.

, Bury, Walsall, Oldham

Matt Chambers - Oldham Evening Chronicle

Main signings: Dan Gardner, Craig Davies, Rob Hunt, Courtney Duffus.

Main departures: Connor Ripley, Lee Erwin, Chris Taylor, Lee Croft.

Fans' expectations: John Sheridan's return saw a successful push against relegation for the second season in succession and there are hopes that Latics can exceed the usual placing of lower mid-table this time around.

One to watch: It is very early days in terms of his career, but strapping young striker Courtney Duffus has caught the eye in pre-season after arriving at the club from Everton.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, MK Dons.

, Plymouth.

David Pritchard - Oxford Mail

Main signings: Jon Obika, James Henry, Mike Williamson, Xemi, Dwight Tiendalli.

Main departures: John Lundstram, Liam Sercombe, Chey Dunkley, Chris Maguire, Conor McAleny.

Fans’ expectations: They will be hoping Pep Clotet can continue the upward curve from Michael Appleton's spell and contend for the top six while playing attractive football.

One to watch: Marvin Johnson - shone last season in both his favoured left wing role or at left back. Fingers crossed he is still at the U's when the transfer window shuts.

Promoted: Blackburn Rovers, Bradford City, Scunthorpe United.

Alan Swann - Peterborough Telegraph

Main signings: Steven Taylor, Ricky Miller, Jack Marriott, Michael Doughty, Jonathan Bond.

Main departures: Michael Bostwick, Tom Nichols, Shaquile Coulthirst, Brad Inman.

Fans' expectations: 110 goals, the League One title, four players in the League One team of the year, international call-ups, the League One golden boot winner. Actually that's just the chairman, but fans tend to agree with him.

One to watch: It will be fascinating to see if Ricky Miller can transfer his prolific non-league scoring form to League One.

Promoted: Wigan, Blackburn, Portsmouth.

, Walsall.

Chris Errington - Plymouth Herald

Main signings: Lionel Ainsworth, Ryan Edwards, Joel Grant, Ruben Lameiras, Gregg Wylde.

Main departures: Ryan Brunt, Nauris Bulvitis, Ryan Donaldson, Jordan Slew, Jimmy Spencer.

Fans’ expectations: The more optimistic are hoping Argyle can get close to a play-off spot, but most would settle for a mid-table finish after promotion last term.

One to watch: Playmaker Graham Carey was one of the stand-out players in League Two last season. Out of contract this summer, he agreed a new two-year deal to stay with the Pilgrims.

Promoted: Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Fleetwood Town.

Jordan Cross - Portsmouth News

Main signings: Brett Pitman, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, Nathan Thompson. Luke McGee

Main departures: Enda Stevens, Michael Doyle, Noel Hunt, Amine Linganzi, David Forde, Stanley Aborah.

Fans' expectations: The bookies may have Pompey as one of the favourites for promotion, but with their £3m budget among the lower in League One and new manager Kenny Jackett promising to blood youngsters a play-off push looks a more realistic ambition.

One to watch: Conor Chaplin. An exciting home-grown talent with predatory goalscoring instincts and an eye for the spectacular. A strike partnership with Brett Pitman has the hallmarks of a potent pairing at League One level.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Bradford.

, Oldham, Shrewsbury

Richard Partington - Rochdale Observer/Manchester Evening News

Main signings: Jordan Williams, Brad Inman, Reece Brown, Brendan Moore, Kgosi Ntlhe.

Main departures: Peter Vincenti, Matt Lund, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Conrad Logan, Donal McDermott.

Fans’ expectations: Two or three key players have left in the summer and while their replacements all have potential it could take time for the team to adjust to the changes. Still, the fans will expect them to challenge in the top half of the table given (manager) Keith Hill's remarkable record of over-achieving on a small budget.

One to watch: Jordan Williams - Rochdale pipped several Football League clubs to his signature after coming up against him playing for Barrow in the FA Cup. Hill reckons if he gets up to speed with the demands of the FL, he won't be at Rochdale for long.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Portsmouth

, Shrewsbury

Paul Davis - The Sheffield Star.

Main signings: Jamie Proctor, David Ball, Michael Ihiekwe, Josh Emmanuel, Darren Potter.

Main departures: Kirk Broadfoot, Dexter Blackstock, Darnell Fisher.

Fans' expectations: Top-10 consolidation after last year's relegation would be a decent season. A play-off push would be a welcome bonus.

One to watch: David Ball. A scorer and a creator, signed after his departure from Fleetwood Town. Can play as a striker, although manager Paul Warne believes his 'guile' is suited to being a 'No 10'.

Promoted: Portsmouth, Wigan, Scunthorpe.

Relegated: Oldham, Bury, Doncaster, Blackpool.

Paul Crute - Scunthorpe Telegraph

Main departures: Luke Daniels, Stephen Dawson, David Mirfin, Jamie Ness, Scott Wiseman.

Fans’ expectations: Play-offs again have got to be the minimum aim, but a couple of signings still need to come in if this is to be achieved.

One to watch: Hakeeb Adelakun. If pre-season is anything to go by this season could be the one where the 21-year-old finally realises his potential. Everyone know what he is capable of and this year could be the one it is unlocked.

Former Gills defender Adam El-Abd is one of the departures from Shrewsbury, dropping to League 2 Wycombe.
Former Gills defender Adam El-Abd is one of the departures from Shrewsbury, dropping to League 2 Wycombe.

Lewis Cox - Shropshire Star

Main signings: Dean Henderson, Carlton Morris, Arthur Gnahoua, Niall Ennis.

Fans' expectations: To have progression. Survived the drop by skin of teeth for two seasons now. Paul Hurst (manager) came in last season and turned it around - hoping he can push up in his first full season.

One to watch: Jon Nolan - 'Nolo' is a favourite of Hurst and was brought from Chesterfield and given a three-year deal. Has been great to watch already, a comfortable midfield player in possession with an eye for a pass.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Bradford.

Chris Phillips - Southend Echo

Main signings: Michael Kightly, Michael Turner, Stephen Hendrie

Main departures: Adam Thompson, Will Atkinson.

Fans’ expectations: To improve on last season which saw the team miss out on the play-offs by just one point.

One to watch: Ryan Leonard. Blues turned down £500,000 from Sheffield United this summer and he remains one of the best midfielders at this level.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Bradford.

.

Joe Masi - Express & Star.

Main signings: Mark Gillespie, James Wilson, Jon Guthrie, Luke Leahy, Nicky Devlin.

Main departures: Neil Etheridge, Craig MacGillivray, Isaiah Osbourne, Franck Moussa.

Fans' expectations: Most Walsall’s fans accept the club’s promotion push in the 2015/16 campaign was the result of a long-term plan coming to fruition. After missing out by a point, they had to start again last year. A 14th placed finish in League One was about par for the course. But this year supporters will want a flirt with the play-offs - with a top half finish the minimum target.

One to watch: Erhun Oztumer: Walsall’s Wizard of Oz netted a career best 15 goals last season and also grabbed a number of assists. All the signs suggest he will again be the Saddlers main attacking threat this term.

Promoted: Blackburn, Wigan, Southend.

Relegated: Blackpool,

, Plymouth, Doncaster

Paul Kendrick - Wigan Observer/Wigan Post

Main signings: Chey Dunkley, Gavin Massey, Lee Evans, Callum Elder, Ivan Toney.

Main departures: Jake Buxton, Matt Gilks, Mikael Mandron, Billy Mckay, Stephen Warnock.

Fans' expectations: Should be up there in the hunt for automatic promotion if the squad stays relatively intact beyond the transfer deadline. Most of the big guns from the League One title win of 2015/16 - including Will Grigg, David Perkins, Craig Morgan, Sam Morsy and Michael Jacobs - remain so expectation is high.

One to watch: Nick Powell - Far too good for this level if Wigan can keep him anywhere near fit on a consistent basis. If they can do that - and he clicks with Will Grigg - keeping hold of him in January will be the main problem.

Promoted: Wigan, Blackburn, Scunthorpe.

Relegated: Gillingham, Shrewsbury, Walsall, Wimbledon.
