Gills boss Justin Edinburgh has completed the signing of a striker from the Premier League.
Teenager Joe Quigley has penned a loan deal at Priestfield that will keep the AFC Bournemouth forward at Priestfield until the end of January.
Gills manager Justin Edinburgh said: “Joe is technically very, very good. It’s a step-up for him as he’s only had experience of the Conference, but that’s a really tough division.
“He knows what level of physicality to expect in League One, but I fully expect him to be able to make an impact on games.
“His size, stature and presence are things we didn’t have upfront last year. I’ve got a really high opinion of him; he’s got a bright future ahead.”
Quigley spent spells on loan at Wrexham and Woking last season.
He said: "It’s a great challenge for me. I’ve come here to help the team get into the Championship while scoring as many goals as I can.
“I’d say I’m a target man upfront, but I like the ball at my feet and bringing team-mates into play.
“I gained a lot from the physical side of non-league football while on loan at Wrexham and Woking.
"It’s a good step up from under-21 and development team level, and I believe that will serve me well in League One."
