Justin Edinburgh will have to watch Gillingham’s home game against Doncaster from the stands.

The Gills boss was reprimanded by the Football Association for comments made about referee Simon Hooper.

Edinburgh was incensed at the injury-time penalty awarded for Yeovil, who equalised from the spot in the League 1 clash on February 21.

“I think I said enough about the incident but unfortunately the ref felt it was appropriate to report me,” said Edinburgh, in his notes ahead of Saturday’s game.

“I was charged by the FA after a personal hearing on Wednesday and you have to accept the charge, so unfortunately I’ll have to watch with the chairman in the stands but I have great belief in (assistant boss) Hess and (coach) Steve (Lovell).

“I’m only one flight above them and I’ll have access to speak to them and I’m still allowed to be with the players before, at half time and then after the game. I’m disappointed as I thought it was a bit harsh but we have to move on and on we go.”
