Justin Edinburgh is keen to see more of Aaron Morris after the player returned from a two-month absence at the weekend.

Morris replaced injured Josh Pritchard midway through the first half of Saturday’s match with Doncaster.

It was Morris’ first appearance for the senior team since limping off with a hamstring injury in the defeat to Port Vale on January 3.

He slotted into the holding role in midfield, as a straight replacement for Pritchard, but Edinburgh has yet to decide just where he sees the 25-year-old fitting in on a regular basis.

“I need to see him a bit more,” said Edinburgh.

“I have only seen him for about 60 minutes and I wouldn’t want anyone to make an assessment on me in that time.

“I think he has got the capabilities of doing that (holding role), there is no doubt. He showed that on Saturday.

“Hopefully we can get him some more minutes and bed that position down.”

Pritchard’s own run in the team has been hindered by injury and a whack to the top of his hamstring at the weekend led to him limping off after 25 minutes.

Edinburgh said: “He couldn’t shake it off and it’s a shame because it has been a bit of a difficult time for Josh (with injuries)."
