Young striker Noel Mbo has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension at Gillingham.
The club took up the option of a second year on the 19-year-old’s contract.
Mbo has just completed his first year as a pro, making one appearance and scoring in the 7-5 Checkatrade Trophy win over Reading.
The front-man was born in the Congo, arriving in the country as a youngster and having a spell at Charlton before moving to Priestfield.
He played on loan for Hampton & Richmond and Kingstonian during the last season but has yet to make a league appearance for the Gills.
Gills boss Steve Lovell has offered new deals to all of last season’s young pros and Mbo is the first to sign.
Lovell said: “I’m pleased to keep Noel on board for the new season. He made good progress during the 2017/18 campaign and I have no doubt he will kick on in the next 12 months.”
He is the latest signing after both Gabriel Zakuani and Elliott List both completed new deals earlier this week.
