Gillingham have a new left-back after signing David Tutonda from Bristol Rovers.
Like Max Ehmer, who returned to the Gills on Tuesday, Rovers agreed to cancel Tutonda’s contract to make the move happen.
He’s a player who’s interested Steve Evans in the past, with the Gills boss attempting to sign him last summer.
He finally has his man and becomes Evans’ third signing of the week, following Ben Reeves and Ehmer.
“David is a talented boy,” said Evans. “He is very quick, good on the ball and likes to get forward.
“We tried last summer to get him to Priestfield but we couldn’t compete at that time.
“Our supporters will like him for sure. We go forward with our recruitment plans and I look forward to working with such a talented lad.”
Tutonda, 25, joined Bristol Rovers on a two-year deal from Barnet last summer.
He came through the youth ranks at Cardiff, going on loan to York and Newport, before his release.
The full-back went on to join Barnet, making more than 100 appearances for the London club before joining Rovers.
He played 20 times for the Gas last season, including 10 starts.
