Bradley Garmston has signed a two-year contract extension at Gillingham.
The 24-year-old left-back overcame injury to play regularly towards the latter end of the season.
Injury had limited him to just seven appearances in the 2016/17 season and he was unavailable at the start of the last campaign because of hamstring problems.
But Garmston came through those injury woes and finished the season with 20 appearances under his belt.
He said: "Since the conclusion of the season I was very keen to extend my stay. I’ve had some great times and I wanted it to continue and I think being here is key for my development.
“I like to keep on top of my fitness and it’s important, having had issues in the past, to come back in good shape in pre-season.”
The former West Brom defender has been with the club since January, 2015, when he initially joined on the loan.
He made that move permanent the following summer and has now made 65 league appearances for the club. His new deal takes him through to the summer of 2020.
