Gillingham's draw at Fleetwood on Saturday cost one punter more than £21,000 from a £1 bet.
The unknown gambler opted for Fleetwood to beat Gillingham as part of a 17-team accumulator bet featuring games in the Premier League, Championship and League 1.
But Tom Eaves netted for Gills in the 1-1 League 1 draw, leaving the punter agonisingly close to a massive windfall, according to a tweet posted on the Oddschanger account on Saturday.
The bet included Premier League wins for Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Wolves and Brighton.
Winnings selections in the Championship were Aston Villa, Stoke, Hull, Swansea and Brentford.
In League 1, Oxford, Bristol Rovers, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Luton and Sunderland all landed.
That meant just Fleetwood let the 21,866/1 bet down as the Gills came away from Highbury with a crucial point in their battle against relegation.
