Gillingham could have a couple of players back from injury for the visit of leaders Blackburn Rovers.
Luke O’Neill and Josh Parker were both out of the squad on Saturday, as the Gills were held to a goalless draw at home to Doncaster Rovers.
O’Neill’s injury meant the Gills had to change shape at the weekend with no other natural senior right-back to choose from. Scott Wagstaff started the game playing right wing-back before filling a place in the back four.
When the Gills reverted to 4-4-2 they also moved central defender Max Ehmer into midfield.
Lovell said: “People were playing out of position because we had to and we changed the shape because we had to. It is something I don’t want to do if you have everyone fit.
“We will wait and see what Monday brings and work on that for Tuesday.”
Lee Martin started the first of a four-game ban while O’Neill missed out with a groin injury picked up at Southend. Striker Josh Parker was still nursing his own injury. He hasn't been involved since returning from international duty.
Callum Reilly was on the bench after overcoming his own injury but was an unused substitute.
“We will have a few ready for Blackburn on Tuesday,” said the manager.
