Gillingham are nursing several injured players ahead of their final pre-season game of the summer.
The Gills travel to League 2 Colchester on Saturday and will be sending a younger team to Thamesmead.
Ahead of the weekend they are assessing knocks picked up in the midweek game at Eastleigh, with Josh Parker, Brandon Hanlan and Dean Parrett among them.
Parrett was subbed as a precaution, Parker was replaced at the break with a deadleg and Hanlan was feeling his groin.
Callum Reilly missed the Eastleigh game with a hamstring strain, Conor Wilkinson remains out with a deadleg and Tom Eaves is still nursing an ankle injury. None are considered serious, however.
Boss Steve Lovell said: “There is no point forcing them if they are carrying a knock, we want to go into the first game with everyone fit and healthy.
“Callum has been feeling his hamstring for a week or so and it was a matter of either going through the game or strengthening it ready for the weekend. We felt it best to keep him out of the game and hopefully he will be okay for Saturday.
“Wilko, same with him, we could have played him but we don’t want to risk anyone. We don’t want to make it worse.”
And on Eaves, he added: “It is not bad news, he is only going to be a week or so, so we are hopeful to be back for the start (of the season) and if not the week after."
