Gillingham have completed the signing of Hearts midfielder Olly Lee.
The 28-year-old played a practice match at Priestfield on Tuesday - and Gills boss Steve Evans liked what he saw.
Lee has joined Gillingham on a loan until the end of January having made 41 appearances for the SPL outfit last season.
“He was a top player at Luton and a top player at Hearts last season,” said Evans earlier this week.
"He needs some minutes. Watching some of his touches and his passing, he has been a joy to watch."
Lee was with the Gills during a brief spell earlier on in his career, playing seven games on loan from West Ham in the 2011/12 season.
He played for Barnet before joining Birmingham City. He went onto have a couple of loan stints at Plymouth and eventually signed permanently for Luton Town three years ago.
Two seasons with the Hatters saw him help them to promotion, playing regularly there before moving to Hearts on a three year deal in the summer of 2018.
Lee is the second player to join Gills today after they completed the loan signing of Tom O'Connor from Premier League Southampton.
Lee said: “It’s nice to be closer to home and I’m looking forward to enjoying my football.
"I’m excited to be a part of what the club is trying to achieve. The gaffer was very encouraging when I spoke to him.
“I’m a mature player; I like to get on the ball, create goals and score goals.”
