New Gillingham boss Mark Bonner has made his first signing since taking charge of the club.
The Gills have snapped up striker Elliott Nevitt from League 2 rivals Crewe.
The 27-year-old featured for Crewe in last weekend’s League 2 Play-off Final defeat to Crawley at Wembley.
But he’s turned down a new deal at Gresty Road in favour of heading south to Gillingham.
Nevitt, who scored 18 goals last season for Crewe, said: “I am very happy and I can't wait to get started. Once I knew a deal could be done we got it done.
"I am a player that gives everything, I give my all, I like to score goals and I believe in myself."
Nevitt, who has also played for Tranmere, has a Wembley hat-trick to his name after scoring all three goals as his Warrington Rylands side won the 2021 FA Vase final against Binfield.
Bonner said: "Elliott has shown his intent agreeing to join us so soon after the conclusion of his season and is an excellent start to our summer recruitment.
"We have signed a striker who is coming off the back of a really successful campaign and gives us someone who has shown consistent ability to cause defenders problems with his strength, mobility and work ethic. He has scored, and can score goals, in a variety of ways and is an outstanding addition to our team.
"I’m excited to work with him. I have been impressed by his ambition and drive in the time we’ve spent together, and in his actions to be joining us."
