FIVE new club records were set by members of Medway and Maidstone AC ladies section in the Young Athletes league at a sunny Deangate.
There were also a number of personal best performances achieved by the squad in spite of some very tough competition. Four of the five new club records were in the field events.
The U15's Rebecca Shelton launched the discus to 21m38 for 2nd A string with Charlotte Mackie gaining a pb for second spot in the B event.
The other U15 record breaker was Laura Tapson who broke the old long jump record by just 1cm as she leapt out to 5m02. She was joined by Sharne Barker who also gained a pb of 4m46.
The U13s were not to be outdone and M&M now have a new high jump record of 1m25, courtesy of a thrilled Simone Marner while the shot putt record fell to Jennifer Taylor as she hurled the shot out to 8m34.
Simone also contested both U13 sprints and was joined in the 75m by Emily Green while Carys Hartley, her partner in the 150m, had a fine run to place second.
Catherine Wearing and Stacey Gardiner were, as usual, invincible in the 75m hurdles and once again claimed full points, winning their races with some ease
Another hurdler in good form was Sophie Copping who was able to watch the other girls in her race finish as she reduced her pb for the 300m hurdles to 50.4s.
Hanna Miller had a fantastic run in the 1500m, her first since last year, and she brought her pb down to 5m11.9. She was joined by Catherine Saville who won the B string with a season's best performance.
Jenny Collins and Georgina Hussey had their best event in the long jump as both increased their pb's and scooped up a few more points for the team.
U17 sprinters Claire Welch, Chloe Williams and Hannah Biddiss contested the 100m, 200m and 300m respectively and were quite pleased with their runs as there was a strong headwind to contend with while in the U15 200m Emily Featherstone had a good run against tough opposition.
Laura Reid and Rachel Spashett both contested throws and picked up a few more much needed points.
Tamsin Burling, although not too happy with her throw, picked up full points as she won the U15 javelin.
Mary Edmonds and Laura Midgely both had solid runs in the U15 1500m and Laura was rewarded with a pb of 5m49.4
Danni Reeves has just returned from injury and had a very good day as she gained a pb in the long jump, a second place in the shot putt and was also persuaded to fill in for the 800m. She was joined in the 800m by Emma Adie who, in her first run for the club, ran a creditable 2m54.3.
Anna Davies was the sole competitor for M&M in the 1200m but ran well for a time of 4m40.4. U13 Rachel Parkes had a very satisfying run in the 70m hurdles and finished 2nd with Rebecca Collins 3rd in the B race.
Another pair who always manage to bring home the points are Cayley Sage and Kelly Saul and once again they didn't disappoint, claiming third and second in the U15 800m.
The relays were as always very exciting with much shouting from the supporters and the U13 team of Green, Hartley, Reeves and Marner were second in a thrilling finish that saw them just two tenths behind winners Woodford Green.
Relay team of the day had to be the U15 4 x 100m relay as Catherine Wearing, Emily Featherstone, Laura Tapson and Stacey Gardiner put on a brilliant display and took nearly a second off the old club record in a time of 51.3s.
