Ricky Gundry is loving life at Chatham.
The 26-year-old has hit five goals in the last four games and he's hoping the club can find some consistency to pull clear of the Ryman League Division 1 South danger-zone.
Gundry said: “It’s good to get the goals and it helps with the confidence, but the points are what matter at the moment. We seem to win a couple and then lose one at home and need to be more consistent.”
Chats have suffered defeats in their last five at home, including a 3-2 loss against Three Bridges on Saturday. Gundry got both of Chatham’s goals. They are on the road on Saturday at second-placed Worthing.
“On paper we are the underdogs by a long way, but we’ll be looking to cause an upset,” said Gundry.
The striker moved to Chatham from Southern Counties East side Rochester this season and is enjoying playing under former Manchester City star Kevin Horlock.
Gundry said: “He is brilliant. I am in awe of him and what he has achieved in football and we all listen to what he has to say because he has a lot of knowledge to pass on. I’m bagging goals and I’m happy.”
Chats have added former Millwall forward John-Prince Rylah to their ranks, joining from Walton Casuals.
