Man-of-the-match goalscorer Brandon Hanlan praised the collective effort of the team after brushing aside Doncaster Rovers on Sunday.
Gillingham marched into round three of the FA Cup with a dominant performance and a 3-0 win.
Hanlan netted the third to seal the victory after goals from Mark Byrne and Olly Lee had set them on their way.
Hanlan said: “There was a good vibe in the changing room before, we were buzzing and you could see in the first half.
“It was a solid performance, from Jack in goal, to Mika up top, all the boys did well.
“It was a good day and there was not much more we could have asked for.”
Hanlan picked up a long ball over the top from Olly Lee and after shrugging off the attention of Joe Wright he fired in the third midway through the second half.
“I fancy myself for pace,” said the striker, who was a real handful for the Doncaster defence all afternoon.
“When I saw the ball take a bounce and the defender was running backwards towards his goal, I knew I was going to get infront of him and I managed to slot it home. I was happy with that.”
Gills vs Doncaster;
Hanlan should have scored another soon after, picking up another ball from Lee and once more getting the better of Wright, only to fire over.
The young striker, who scored the winner against Sunderland in round one, said: “I got a little push in the back, but I tried to go across goal. It went over the bar but at least I got one.
"I could have had more goals but I just need to keep on pushing.”
