Holcombe goalie Maddie Hinch was the hero as England beat the Netherlands in the final of the Unibet EuroHockey Championships.
Two late England goals levelled the final at 2-2 took the game to a shootout.
Hinch saved three times during the shootout as England clinched the EuroHockey title for the first time since 1991.
The Dutch had made a bright start to the final but were twice denied early on by Hinch, one of three Holcombe players in the starting line-up.
Sam Quek and Nicola White were also in the England team fighting for honours at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Hinch continued to thwart the Netherlands throughout the first half, making a stunning save to deny Caia Van Maasakker just before the break.
She made two more important saves at the start of the second half but England’s resistance finally broke on 40 minutes, with Van Maasakker scoring from a penalty corner. She scored a second three minutes later.
Sophie Bray pulled a goal back on 52 minutes and Hinch needed to be at her very best to keep England in the game, making a double-save from a penalty corner.
Moments later Lily Owsley levelled the match and it went into a shootout, where Hinch was again the star.
Two years ago Hinch and England were beaten in the final by Germany in a shootout.
