Chatham boss Kevin Horlock has turned down another international trip as he looks to get his new team firing.
Horlock recently returned from a Northern Ireland under-17 tour to Israel and was asked to help out the national side again, taking an under-21 team to France next week.
But for now, Chatham is all that matters to the new manager.
He said: “I spoke to the Irish Football Association and told them I’m going to give it a miss.
“They realise I have just been away for 10 days with the under-17s and they know what an opportunity I have got here.
“They know I am putting everything into it and going away for another 10 days is not ideal.
“Hopefully it doesn’t hinder things for me in the future but at the moment Chatham Town is what’s important.
“The potential for this club is massive and over the next few weeks and months that is what I’m concentrating on.”
Chatham travel to Hastings on Saturday.
