Right-back Gavin Hoyte is available for Saturday's match against Walsall after a three-game ban.
But Gillingham boss Peter Taylor isn’t necessarily going to bring him straight back in.
Taylor played Aaron Morris on the right side of defence against Peterborough on Tuesday night and was impressed with his performance. He had previously used Callum Davies in that role.
“We will have him (Hoyte) back but I thought Aaron Morris got better and better as the game went on,” said Taylor.
The Gills came through Tuesday’s match with no more knocks, meaning only Danny Kedwell (knee) and keeper Stuart Nelson (hand) are on the injury list.
Walsall lost 4-0 to Rochdale in midweek, having beaten high-flying Preston 3-1 on the Saturday.
“They are a good passing team and for them to beat Preston on Saturday was a very good result,” said Taylor.
Gillingham will be looking to protect their impressive home form – they have won three and drawn one of their opening four League 1 matches at Priestfield.
