Justin Edinburgh will be turning his attention towards his other transfer targets now that Max Ehmer’s move to Gills was finally completed on Thursday.
The paperwork on the German defender’s three-year contract ended a long chase by the Gills.
Edinburgh and chairman Paul Scally remain working on other deals, with up to four new faces set to arrives before the start of the season.
Another central defender, a new midfielder and a goalkeeper are all on the wishlist of Gills boss Edinburgh.
After completing the Ehmer deal, he said: “We are in dialogue with another couple of players and we also have a couple of loan movements we are working on.
“I think we will see another three or four through the door.
So far the Gills have already recruited wing-backs Ryan Jackson and Bradley Garmston, along with strikers Ben Williamson and Rory Donnelly.
Keeper Stuart Nelson and midfielder Josh Pritchard both joined in with training this week but are expected to leave over the summer.
Edinburgh said: “Both are top class pros and they came back with smiles on their faces.
“While they are here they will get down to the work that everyone else is doing.”
