Danny Galbraith’s Gillingham career has been stalled by another injury.
The 24-year-old former Hibs and Limerick midfielder has seen just 11 minutes of competitive action for the Gills since signing in the second week of December.
His only appearance was as a late substitute in Gillingham’s 2-1 win over Doncaster on December 13.
Galbraith – a former Manchester United youth player - was due to feature in Gillingham’s Kent Senior Cup tie against Tonbridge Angels.
But a toe injury, picked up in training, ruled him out.
Coach Andy Hessenthaler believes they have a talented player on their hands but admits it’s been a difficult few months for the player.
“He has been frustrated since he has been here,” said Peter Taylor’s former assistant.
“We are monitoring the injury and hopefully he will travel on Thursday (for the JPT tie at Bristol City).
“People haven’t really seen him but in training he has looked quite bright. He can play wide and in the diamond shape, on the left, or the no.10 role that Bradley Dack plays.
“It has been stop, start for him unfortunately and he has picked up a couple of knocks and he has not been able to stake his claim.
“He looks a clever player that could add something if needs be.”
