Holcombe have clinched the signing of two England and GB international players for their women’s senior side.
The ladies will be playing National League hockey next season and the arrivals are a major boost to their hopes of further success.
Joining the Holcombe Park club are Maddie Hinch and Laura Unsworth. Both will be involved in next weekend’s World League event in London.
Coach Kevin Johnson said: “They very much share in my long term vision for the ladies section and are motivated to play a part in the journey and the challenges ahead and therefore I am absolutely delighted that we are able to recruit such high profile British names to our player group.”
Goalkeeper Hinch, 24, has 21 international caps for England and Britain and was recently playing for Premier League Leicester. Defender Unsworth, 25, was part of the Great Britain team that won during the London 2012 Olympics.
She has 88 caps to her name and was most recently with Loughborough Students in Conference North.
“This is fantastic news for the club as a whole and I’m sure we are all looking forward to seeing them perform in Holcombe colours next season,” added Johnson.
Their arrivals come shortly after the news that Britain’s Olympic men’s captain Barry Middleton joined Holcombe.
