Holcombe Hockey Club will be parading their international stars when the new league season gets underway on Saturday.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are in National League action tomorrow at Holcombe Park and admission is free.
Chairman David South has had a busy summer recruiting Britain’s best as both senior sides chase their ultimate aim of Premier Division hockey.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day,” said Mr South.
“It means a lot to me and it’s huge to have got both sides where they are but we still have a way to go. We want them both to be playing Premier League hockey; that’s our next ambition.
“We are hoping the international players can be an inspiration for the young players at the club to keep moving onwards and upwards. People can get a chance to see talent that they don’t usually see and everyone is welcome."
Joining the men’s team this season is Great Britain captain Barry Middleton and fellow international Dan Fox. Scottish stars Allan Dick and Daniel Coulton are also in their ranks.
The men face Cambridge City at 4pm while the women host Wimbledon at 6pm.
The women’s team has been boosted by the arrival of international players Laura Unsworth, Maddie Hinch and Stephanie Elliot.
Last season the women's team won promotion to National League level without losing a game.
Mr South said: “There is such a massive difference in class and we are just aiming to establish the side at that level.”
But for the men, he said: "“This year the aim is simple. We want to win the league and get into the play-offs."
