Gillingham drawn with Ipswich Town, Crawley Town and Arsenal under-21s in EFL Trophy

Gillingham will meet Ipswich in the EFL Trophy for the second season running.

The League 1 rivals were paired in Group B of the southern section alongside Crawley Town of League 2 when the draw was made yesterday.

The final spot, confirmed this afternoon, has been filled by Arsenal's under-21s.

Much-changed Gillingham lost 4-0 at Ipswich in last season’s group stage, a result that saw them eliminated with a game to play.

Either side of that, the Gills lost 3-2 to Colchester but finished with a flourish, beating Tottenham’s youngsters’ 2-0 at Priestfield, Alex Jakubiak and Jack Tucker the scorers.
