Midfield duo Bradley Dack and Scott Wagstaff are pushing for a return to the Gillingham team.
Both have taken knocks in recent games but boss Justin Edinburgh hopes the pair will return against Oldham on Saturday.
Dack went off with a hamstring injury last week at AFC Wimbledon, while Wagstaff sat that game out after aggravating a calf injury that kept him sidelined in the opening weeks of the season.
Boss Edinburgh said: “I am hoping that Waggy will be fit for the weekend and same with Dacky.”
Edinburgh did, however, reveal that striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was suffering with a knee injury. He was substituted at half-time at Wimbledon.
But despite initial concerns, the manager believes his striker can cope with the ailment.
He said: “He had a scan on his knee on Monday and it is not as severe as we thought so we are hoping he can manage and play with that.”
Ryan Jackson returned in midweek after recovering from a hip injury.
But striker Cody McDonald looks set to remain sidelined.
“Cody is going to be touch and go,” said Edinburgh. “He had a scan and he has swelling of the fat pad, the heel of his foot, they are the things happening.
“It’s quite bizarre, it’s an injury I have never heard of before but that’s where we are at, no excuses, we have to get on with it.”
Paul Konchesky (calf) was rested in the week but should be good for the weekend.
