The TKO Elite gym got their competitive year under way at the weekend with immediate success as Liudas Prusinskis Jr picked up a title belt in fast fashion.
Meeting Tommy Mahoney for the KBX British Junior K1 title, Liudas was clearly determined not to let the fight develop into a long, hard affair and made a quick start, putting his opponent under pressure from the off.
With just 20 seconds gone Liudas found the target with a perfectly delivered right hand and although Mahoney took that well, the writing was on the wall and just a few seconds later he found the target again with the same right hand putting him down for a count.
Up at the count of eight, Liudas was straight on to him forcing another count and with it the intervention of the referee, saving Mahoney from further punishment and with it bringing the title belt to the TKO Elite fighter.
The whole fight took just 54 seconds from start to finish - ideal for Liuda who fights again this week.
He’ll be joining other members of his gym in Yorkshire to take part in the English Open Championships, a huge event bringing fighters from not just England but large parts of Europe as well. A quick ending means he will be travelling to the event injury free and 100% fit.
